Sensitive Skin & Adhesives — FAQ

Our covers and bras are made with medical-grade, low-irritation silicone, and where a style uses adhesive, a medical-grade, low-irritation adhesive too. Skin is personal, so here's an honest guide to wearing them comfortably. For more, see our Skin & Safety page.

Are adhesive nipple covers safe for sensitive skin?

They're made with medical-grade, low-irritation materials, and many people with reactive skin wear them comfortably. Even so, no adhesive suits everyone, if you're specifically allergic to adhesives, or your skin has reacted to them before, choose a non-adhesive style. If you're simply unsure, patch-test first.

How do I patch test?

Stick a small edge to the inside of your forearm, leave it for a few hours, and check for redness or itching before wearing it on more delicate skin.

Is a truly glue-free option gentler?

Often, yes. Our non-adhesive style is genuinely glue-free, which many people find gentler for reactive skin, it's the style we suggest if you're allergic to adhesives.

Are silicone covers breathable? How long should I wear them?

Solid silicone sits close to the skin and isn't very breathable; our perforated “Breathable” styles are finely holed for extra airflow. Comfort also depends on your skin, how much you sweat and how long you keep them on, so we recommend wearing them for no more than 6 hours at a time and giving your skin breaks in hot, humid weather.

What if my skin reacts?

Remove gently, wash the area with mild soap, and give your skin a rest, then switch to a non-adhesive or breathable style. This is general guidance, not medical advice, see a professional for any persistent reaction.
