Skin & Safety

DNQ pieces are made from medical-grade silicone and low-irritation adhesives, and most people wear them happily. Still, skin is personal, here’s how to wear DNQ comfortably and safely.

Try a quick patch test

New to adhesive covers or bras, or have reactive skin? Place a small piece on your inner arm for a few hours before first wear. If your skin stays comfortable, you’re good to go.

Wear it at its best

  • Apply to clean, dry skin that’s free of lotion and oil.
  • Wear for no more than 6 hours at a time.
  • Give your skin regular breaks between wears, and remove before sleeping.
  • In hot, humid weather or during intense activity, wear for shorter stretches, trapped heat and sweat can bother skin.
  • Always peel slowly from the outer edge.

Prefer to skip adhesive?

If your skin is very reactive, or you’ve reacted to adhesives before, choose our non-adhesive, self-clinging styles, or the perforated Breathable options for extra airflow.

If your skin reacts

Everyone’s skin is different. If you notice redness, itching or irritation, remove gently, rinse with cool water and a mild cleanser, and give your skin a rest. Please stop using the product if discomfort continues, and speak with a pharmacist or doctor if it persists.

Caring for your DNQ

Rinse after wear, air-dry, and store in its case to protect the hold. Replace it when the surface no longer clings well.
